  • Friends-Resources-Not alone after all!

One of the feelings that was absolutely overwhelming at first was the feeling of being alone against the illness. I had seen the many ads for the organizations that were dedicated to one illness or the other, I have even donated in the past to a few of them. I really didn’t know how much help they could be to patients and families, until they were helping me and mine.

My wife used the sites more than me, and still does. The problem with her gaining knowledge about the ailments I have is that it makes my cheating on the diet twice as hard. So if you are the spouse of a patient and want to be helpful, or if you’re a patient and want to know which sites can be detrimental to the ability to cheat at recovery- I want to tell you of some we found.

The American Heart Association site has a wealth of information about several heart related topics. All of the sites are full of information, but this site is a great place to start the search for any information you need about the heart, it’s ailments, and solutions to the problems that can occur from heart troubles. There are great tips for general heart health and many links to other sites.

The Heart Failure Society of America is a very informative site. The information we gained on this site took the word failure and turned it into a challenge. Not only did I obtain a lot of information, but I saw the amount of research and professionalism being dedicated to the battle against this condition. It is comforting to know that there are many people dedicated to recovery and prevention.

These were the two main sites we used. We will compile a list of others we use and have been referred to in a later writing.

Please, have a healthy time until we meet again.
