We have been diagnosed, begun to heal, dealt with the mental anguish so lets heal some more!
Remember to always consult with your physician prior to exercise, and always follow the doctor’s directives— and remember we are not doctors or healing professionals. Our purpose here is to make some suggestions based on our experience.
We are adding links to suppliers for some of the equipment used at rehab, and some alternatives to the more expensive exercise tools we saw. Take a look and see what you think about Bodylastics, one we found that works very well. We hope they help.
Some of the exercise equipment used in rehab, or similar rehab tools, can be purchased. I am talking about exercise equipment to use at home. With cash flow reduced due to the illness and added expenses from the illness, I sought out, and still am seeking equipment that is more affordable for us.
Weight training helps build muscle mass. Increased muscle mass burns fat at a greater rate than what I started with (I was told), so one answer for me is limited weight training. This training is limited by my current physical condition (lack of previous physical conditioning), and my doctors directions. After finding that my heart was in a weakened condition the regulated exercise program is helping to get my stamina back.
Free weights are very cumbersome and often require benches and other added equipment to get the desired workout. We don’t have the space in our house so I found Bodylastics.
This set of elastic bands, and the carrying case are much easier to store than the set of weight I saw at the gym. The workout is very similar, the same groups of muscles can be exercised, and the price is much more affordable.
I very highly recommend Bodylastics as a good investment in a healthy future. This equipment is easy to use, comes with instructions, provides a varying weight or resistance level, and is easily stored. All the needed elements are here.
Another benefit is the fact that I can carry this exercise equipment with me wherever I go. I don’t have to miss a workout. It is recommended that a program of rebuilding not be interrupted.
Remember to check with your physician, stay within the limits the doctor sets, and have a HealthyHeart day!
