Olive Oil to Lower Blood Cholesterol
Olive oil, while not a magic potion, is a very good aid in the lowering of LDL (Bad Cholesterol). One of the good things is that Olive oil has little or no effect on HDL (Good Cholesterol). Out with the bad and leave the good alone! I wish the whole world would adopt that policy. The reason for the action of Olive Oil is in the mono-unsaturated fatty acids.
To lower your bad cholesterol level at least 15% of daily calories should come from mono-unsaturated fatty acids. To accomplish this try, using Olive Oil as a substitute for butter, use Olive Oil to cook in place of other less desirable grease or oil, and my favorite-use Olive Oil on, and in salads.
This Oil has many other uses we will write about later.
