  • Walking shoes—what’s the big deal?

We have only olne pair of feet for our whole life. They provide a  number of needed tasks we take for granted, and they are in charge of support-shock absorption-balance-and comfort-to name a few of the items they do for us each and every day. I do believe that my feet have been taken for granted more than any other  part of my body, I say that after a bit of reflexion. I not only took my feet for granted—I abused them.

I now look for good walking shoes almost every where I go, and every time I am browsing the net. Walking is now a very important part of my life, it makes up more of my exercise program than anything else. In addition I am trying to walk more every day. I park at the back of the lot at every store and mall I visit, I take the stairs most of the time, and I have a push mower rather than a ride on. I am forcing myself to get more active with new habits.

Walking shoes come in lots of colors and can ranged from high end walking shoes, to those more suited to a budget like my own. I am fond of one or two brands because I have had great experience with them. I also walk in my job a lot, and I am active on my feet at work.

Walking at work requires a good work shoe, and that is where our feet get the hardest workout. Sometimes when my ankles bother me, I wear my work boots. I guess the big deal is that our feet are our foundation, our heart needs exercise and our feet provide the means to do that exercise—–so we need to know how to take care of our feet to take care of our heart.

Thank you for stopping in at our blog—and please help us build a community of HealthyHeartFolks—be heart healthy.
