Another way to relax!!!
Recreation is another word for relax and reduce the risk of heart ailment and heart disease and heart attack! So how do I relax? Several ways, but one of my choices would be Golf.
Think about golf—no cart and you have walking, swinging at the ball—muscles are worked—the challenge will also work our mind. There is strategy, skill, and (for me) a bit of luck involved in every round. I was a golfer as a youngster. Some of my best memories of my father are from the golf course.
We would go and meet three of his friends— and the two sons of one man— for a round of golf each Sunday morning at 5 AM. We would all play golf, the men would play—us boys would hit an occasional ball, and caddy. When we boys got older there would always be a foursome and a threesome playing at 5:00 AM on Sunday.
I would make a couple of suggestions, DO NOT golf with friends from work unless you have a good understanding that work will not be discussed. Remember this activity is for our relaxation, there is nothing wrong with golfing with friends from work, or even working while playing golf—but, for me, that is called work time and not relaxation. Secondly—remember it is for our relaxation, sometimes I do not even keep score!
Even if the golfing activity is more than you are allowed by the doctor—how about some computer golf.
Between the good memories, the friendshp of our fellow golfers, the exercise, the challenge, and the time to concentrate on things other than work or problems —-Golf is a real HealthyHeartFolks activity.
