  • Treadmill The New Begining

    The tread mill was the starting point. This machine was used during my stress test to measure my ability to do work, and to measure the amount of stress my heart would take before I hit what the doctor called the max. The results would be the beginning point for recovery.

    The treadmill has been vital to my exercise program, the amount of recovery I had from the start was minimal, at least to me it was not much…I am an all or nothing type of person, and I want when I want it, and that is always yesterday. That little personality flaw has gotten me in trouble more than once, and some say that flaw may be a part of the reason my heart is in a state of failure.

    Self imposed stress can greatly increase the risk of heart disease, as can the stress imposed by life itself. I do not believe that stress is the total reason for my heart failure, but I do know that it played a major role. It is as important for me to learn how to handle stress as it is for me to learn to walk on the treadmill.

    The walk on the treadmill is not like learning to walk all over again, but, it is a controlled walk that I certainly was not used to. The control is to help regulate the rate of exercise in order to regulate the physical stress on the heart. That task is done with controls of speed and incline to either raise or lower the rate of stress. I have learned that regulated physical stress can and will strengthen a weakened heart.  To help my heart get stronger is the main object of the exercise program.

    So there is my overview of the benefits of the treadmill. I will try some treadmills and let you know my recdomendations.Thank you for reading our blog and for being a healthyheartfolk.
