The Healthy Heart Blog | Finding tools for a healthy heart!!!

This year, as never before, the Internet will play a major role in the holiday shopping frenzy. Some say this is a crying shame, but, for me it will be one of the better events of this holiday season. Christmas is a time when gift giving is at a fever pitch, shopping becomes a chore— rather than a joy, and even those of us who dislike it the most are expected to do it… at least a little bit. My wife likes for me to remember that it is extremely insensitive to ask her to go and buy her own present. So the expectation is set…

Since the diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure I have done all that I can to remain active and useful. I work full time, I try to keep up with some of the household chores (of late I have had help from our son with that), I do some volunteer work, I do this… and a few other things that I enjoy. Shopping is not something I really enjoy…going into a crowd of people to find the one special item that will express my love for, appreciation of, and true joy with my wife and our marriage is not the activity that excites me.

This may be the year for folks like me! There are several retailers and internet business folks that are making this a big year to shop on-line. Saving time, gas money, and avoiding the stress of the traffic, the crowds,and the pressure of mall shopping is something  I consider both profitable and healthy. We have the opportunity to do our shopping right here (folow this link to reduce stress) we we ae right now. If we choose we can go to the library, our favorite internet cafe, or… with the right equipment, almost anywhere we are turns into a shopping mall. Without the bumping of shoulders, the bombardment of sales pitches, the disgusting times we need service and are ignored…my shopping becomes a joy.

I can even go shopping and my wife will think I am in the other room working on our blog….how sneaky is that? To help our fellow HealthyHeartFolk friends we have partnered with some of the internet shopping sites to help with ideas and make “the trip to the store” a healthier and happier experience…it will relieve some of the seasonal stress.
