  • Cooking Methods for Holiday and Busy Times

We are a busy family, we have a busy schedule, in other words we are on the GO! This time of year the demands are even greater. There are two office parties, three organizations that we are active in— and more obligations, so what in the world is the answer to eating healthy? Eating out—fast food—hap-hazard eating schedule? Non of these seems to be the answer for us—I gain weight fast when I do not eat right–I mean healthy.

How do we stay on a healthy track with the busy schedules? Preperation and portioning—these two words are key in the fast paced schedule of the holiday and any oher busy season.

When we schedule our time — we schedule time to prepare and pre-package food for on the run eating. We can prepare a PotRoast in the Crockpot and after cooking we are able to package the portions we need for individual servings later. This can also work to control portions for calorie counting, carb counting, or to help insure that we stay on the recommended portion sizes to maintain our weight.

Aother example is chicken breast, buy the family pack, prere all at one time, or whatever the grill will hold, and package with vegies for eating later. How about the simall meals each day—to aid the metabolism rate? This taqsk is much easer to do when the food is in six neat packages, at least it is for me.
