Walking Shoes-choosing the right shoes is the first step to a good walk.
Heart disease requires exercise as a part of the healing process. During all exercise we use certain equipment, this can include clothing. In this article will share my experienc with walking shoes. My hope is that we can all learn together, and move toward a healthy heart lifestyle.
The first thing to remember is that we are all different. No one shoe is the answer for every foot that walks for health. There is no one brand, style, or material in a shoe that is made to satisfy every need, that is why there is more than one selection. There are some general things to look for and we will look at those, from there we each should make our own choices based on our own personal needs.
The heel of the shoe is very important. A flat wide heel will cause the heel of our feet to slap down, the heel needs to roll.
The foot needs to have a flexible sole so it can roll as we walk. We walk with the heel hitting first, then the foot rolls to the toe.
Our shoes must fit correctly. This is critical-there should be room for the toes to move freely, the heel should not slip the fit should be firm and not tight across the top and at the sides of our feet.
The shoe should be light weight and made so the shoe can breath.
Shop for shoes after a work daywhen feet are slightly swolen. We should not forget to wear the same socks we wear to run-this could make a huge difference in fit.
Before walking in the shoes for fitness we should wear them for a few days around the house to make sure of the fit.
By keeping track of our mileage walking in the shoes we can save our feet from damage. Shoes wear out, the best change comes after 400 to 500 miles. This could vary with the walking conditions.
