Dried Plums- The dried fruits are very easy snacks to carry and store. And one of those dried fruits having large counts of antioxidants is the dried plum, otherwise known as the prune. This “wrinkled up old plum” is also very high in fiber.
The antioxidant count in prunes is 5,570 units per 100g compared with only 2,400 units for the same amount of blueberries. Antioxidants are helpful in control of cholesterol, important for most heart patients.
Fiber, roughage, bran—whatever it is called is important to heart patients also. Fiber helps us fight obesity, cancer, diabetes and other ailments also. The prune is a very good source of fiber, one 3.5 ounce serving will provide around 25 percent of the daily requirement and is valued at only 200 calories.
