Our local wellness center is doing a promotion that is fun and has really boosted the “walk for wellness” awareness in our town. First we were assigned to teams, or if we wish we could find our own team. Each team is made up of eight people.
The team has a captain, that person is responsible for gathering and reporting r miles each week, team morale, and sometimes for individual encouragement.The miles are gathered and reported one time per week, the total at the end of e eight week contest is to be enough to walk from Houston, TX. to ElPaso TX., and back.
There are some donated prizes and some other incentives to keep going. My wife and I are on different teams…yes, we compete. I do beleive this is the most fun I have had since my diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure.
This has been good for a lot of folks in our town. Perhaps you copulorganize one for your town and we could compare notes.
